Tell us who are you, how old are you and where are you from?
First of all... thanks for the interview!
My name is Desan21, I'm 26 years old and I live in Switzerland.
What name do you write? Is there a story behind it?
I Write the name Desan. But there is no story behind it. 6 or 7 years ago, I looked for a name. I did a lot of experiments with letters. But finally it's your style and work which give the sense to this Tag.
When did you first get in contact with graffiti art?
When my mum brought me home from the hospital 26 years ago !
Graffiti is everywhere.
But I realised and started to analyze it in 1998-1999.
What attracted you to the art of graffiti?
I've always liked to drawing. Graffiti made my day colorful. I saw them on the road, on trains... everywhere. I wanted to be a part of them.
It's the scene. It's the atmosphere. It's to create everytime something new and see everyday something new from other artists. Graffiti is life. I Love this life.
When and why did you start writing?
Same like the question before. Writing or Graffiti, this can be your life. Your day and night. I decided to spend my time for it, and it gives me a lot. It gives me everything that makes me happy.
Where did you paint your first graffiti?
hmm... that was under a bridge... a very secret and safety place. haha
Have you ever had any crazy moments while out painting?
The crazy life started with the day when I started to Graff.
Every wall has his own crazy story and memories for me.
What motivates you to keep doing Graffiti?
It's the motivation to represent your name and your crew name. To show to others, that you're still alive.
And for me specially, it's like a responsibility to respresent a little bit from my culture. This is, why I call my art: Oriental Graffiti or Canli Mürekkep" (Living Ink / Alive Ink)
What other writers has been the most influent for your own development?
I've big respect from all writers. The new school and specially the old school artists.
It's possible that I take a lot of little things from a lot of different artists.
But it's important to put and use this at the right place and in the own style.
What are your thoughts about the current graffiti scene where you currently live?
You know, for me it's more important to give my best and show the people my own work.
I can't criticize the graffiti scene... I think I have to paint some years more. But I'm sure that years ago, there were more respect between the writers.
How's the relation between you and the writers of your city?
I's all fine here for me.
I have my crew and my friends around me. We have a great time.
Of course, there are also the others... but I prefere to ignore someone if I've a problem with him/her.
Life's to short... we have to enjoy our time.
Do you see yourself doing graffiti 10 years from now?
I wish & hope so!
What else do you like to do apart from art?
Wash and drive my mini cooper
I love to listen music and looking for new inspirations everywhere.
Oh and I love to watch Columbo.
What's your opinion about the Street Art culture here in deviantART?
I love this place. There are a lot of big artist unbeknown. It's a crazy and interesting Area.
Are you working in something right now? What can we see coming from you in near future?
I will try to make more and different canvases. I want to try some new materials to get other results. But still in the Oriental Flavour mixes with the calligraphy.
